Cookbook Clubs

We 💚 Cookbook Clubs!

Hi — Brian Hogan Stewart, host of Salt + Spine here. For several years, I’ve enjoyed following and participating in online cookbook clubs, networks of people who come together every month around a specific cookbook (typically one, sometimes more under a theme) and then cook from that book, sharing photos and stories of what was incredible, what worked and what didn’t, and what we’ve learned from the cookbook, its author, and from each other. (Some cookbook clubs meet in person too; Serious Eats has even advocated for cookbook clubs as “the new way to entertain.”)

These cookbook clubs have given me and the Salt + Spine team inspiration and community for years—even on months when I’m too busy to participate—and we hope they do for you, too.

Since the beginning of 2017, Salt + Spine has been maintaining a database, updated monthly, of which cookbooks are being featured in some of our favorite online cookbook clubs. Check out what’s featured this month below, and see our archive of cookbook club picks here.

P.S. If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, get ready for the Salt + Spine Cookbook Club, launching in early 2019!
